Tour Description

Tour the gorgeous island paradise of Sri Lanka on two-wheels and experience its true inner beauty. This is a tour designed for experienced riders, which takes you across some of the best attractions across the country.

Start off in the coastal town of Negombo, a short drive away from the airport, and head to Sigiriya, where you can explore the mysteries of the ancient rock fortress that looms large over the haunting Dry Zone landscape. Head over to the ruins of Polonnaruwa, which was once a great kingdom of Sri Lanka. Cycle through these ancient remnants and learn all there is to know about its long and proud history.

Sri Lanka’s stunning hill country has drawn in hordes of tourists for decades and its capital, Kandy, is your next destination. Boasting a truly unique culture, with its own set of societal traditions, Kandy, is a significant cultural and historical location in the hearts of Sri Lankans.

Then, explore the enigmatic Rikillagaskada and mingle with the warm and friendly locals you encounter while cycling through some challenging terrain.

Next up is Nuwara Eliya, which is known fondly as ‘Little England’. Vast tea estates, awe-inspiring waterfalls and astounding scenery await you in this mountainous haven. Its colonial architecture and uniquely chilly climate will have you believing that you have ridden into a different continent.

Explore Sri Lanka’s highest national park in Horton Plains. Get up close and personal with the distinctive list of animals and birds that call this sanctuary, home. Then it’s off to Belihuloya where you can once again interact closely with the rural folk of traditional Sri Lankan villages to better understand the simple lives they lead.

Then it’s time to add to the wild element of your cycling adventure with a visit to Udawalawe, which holds one of the country’s most celebrated wildlife parks. Teeming with wildlife and breathtaking beauty, Udawalawe is home to the iconic Sri Lankan elephant as well as leopards. You are guaranteed to spot an elephant on your travels through Udawalawe amongst a stunning list of exotic birds and beasts.

Head back to the beach and enjoy what Sri Lanka is best known for. You will cycle to the south of the country where you can lounge on the golden beaches of Unawatuna. From here, you can also head to nearby Galle, which holds several historical sites for you to survey, including the famous fort. Enjoy the sandy beaches of Sri Lanka and bring to an end a memorable ride through some of the country’s stunning attractions.

This tour offers you an unprecedented look into Sri Lanka’s beauty. This comprehensive package will take you through Sri Lanka’s famous attractions and give you an inside look at its heart and soul.
